Yeah. You did not misread that title. Even though DJ Mehdi died in a tragic accident 9 months ago new jams of his are still being released. To be be more specific his set at the Stonesthrow vs. Ed Banger party from 2009 was released back in late March, but since I wasn’t on the look out for new Mehdi it only recently popped onto my radar. What makes this set (and almost any artist affiliated with the Ed Banger record label) so refreshing is its minimalist funky vibe instead of the beat drops/wobbles we may be accustomed to.
